Our Disclaimer (The serious stuff)

By using our free meal planner (and the rest of spoonacular.com) you have to agree that you and only you are responsible for anything that happens to you because of something you have read on this site or have bought/cooked/eaten because of this site. After all, the only person who controls what you put in your mouth is you, right?

Spoonacular is a recipe search engine that sources recipes from across the web. We do our best to find recipes suitable for many diets — whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc. — but we cannot guarantee that a recipe's ingredients are safe for your diet. Always read ingredient lists from the original source (follow the link from the "Instructions" field) in case an ingredient has been incorrectly extracted from the original source or has been labeled incorrectly in any way. Moreover, it is important that you always read the labels on every product you buy to see if the product could cause an allergic reaction or if it conflicts with your personal or religious beliefs. If you are still not sure after reading the label, contact the manufacturer.

We also attempt to estimate the cost and calculate the nutritional information for the recipes found on our site. Again, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. Additionally, our nutrition visualizer that suggests that you limit sodium, sugar, etc., and get enough protein, vitamins, and minerals is not intended as medical advice. Similarly, our health tips are based on articles we have read from various sources across the web, and are not based on any medical training. The team behind spoonacular does not possess any medical qualifications and the information may be found to be incorrect or out of date based on future research. If you need help planning your diet or determining which foods (and recipes) are safe for you, contact a registered dietitian, allergist, or another medical professional.

Pinot Noir, Riesling, and Sparkling rosé are my top picks for Mexican. Acidic white wines like riesling or low-tannin reds like pinot noir can work well with Mexican dishes. Sparkling rosé is a safe pairing too. The Argyle Reserve Pinot Noir with a 4.3 out of 5 star rating seems like a good match. It costs about 30 dollars per bottle.

Argyle Reserve Pinot Noir

The Willamette Valley is best known for their rich Pinot Noir and this is one of the biggest and richest ever from Argyle! Take the color and scent of a Guinee rose, add fruit aromas of black cherry and marion berry with spice aromas of turned earth and dark cocoa and you just begin to approach the complexity of this wine. "Ripe and generous, with distinctive violet and rose petal overtones to the cherry and spice flavors, lingering with fine texture. Needs time to settle in. Twenty percent of the wine will be bottled under screw cap. The wine bottled under screw cap scored 92 points. Best from 2007 through 2012."-Wine Spectator

Instructions

  1. Take 2 cups of the vanilla wafers and crush with a rolling pic. (I personally dont crush them all the way, I like to bite into small pieces of the wafers.) Mix the wafers with the graham crackers from the box. Once mixed divide the crumbs amongst all of the cups.
  2. In a medium bowl combine the yogurts and filling mix from the box. Beat on medium speed for about 1 minute. (Note-if you cannot find strawberry/banana yogurt, just strawberry will work too.)
  3. Add the cool whip to the yogurt and on low speed mix just until everything combined.
  4. Take about 6 strawberries and set aside for dcor. (I had 12 (16oz) cups so I took 6 strawberries and used half a strawberry for each cup). Chop the rest of the strawberries into small pieces. Add to the bowl and mix again.
  5. Divide the filling amongst all the cups. (When doing this for a party I cut an opening in a corner of the Ziploc bag and pipe it that way or a spoon can be used if cups dont necessarily need to be cute.)
  6. Crush the remaining cup of vanilla wafers. Sprinkle atop the filling. Refrigerate for at least a half hour. If you are in a rush and dont have time just place them in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  7. Slice the strawberries and add atop the filling.

Tips

Health Tips

  • Frozen (and potentially even canned) fruit and vegetables contain as much?if not more?vitamins than fresh versions that have been sitting around the supermarket too long. So don't hesitate to buy canned or frozen goods if your budget or the season doesn't allow for fresh!

  • If you're following a gluten-free diet, make sure your cookies (and all other ingredients) are truly gluten free.

Price Tips

  • Most dairy products stay good well past their sell-by date. Instead of throwing out perfectly safe food that is just a few days or maybe even a week or two old, make sure the product smells fine, has a normal texture, and doesn't taste funny. Sniff testing isn't exactly rocket science and it can keep you from wasting food (and money).

Green Tips

  • Eating produce that isn't in season means you're eating fruits and vegetables that have traveled quite awhile to get to you. They lose much of their nutrition during transport, and the long distances are not doing the planet any good either. If you want strawberries in winter, buy them frozen! Also, strawberries are one of the worst offenders when it comes to pesticide residues found on produce, so buy organic when you can.
