Spoonacular is a recipe search engine that sources recipes from across the web. We do our best to find recipes suitable for many diets — whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc. — but we cannot guarantee that a recipe's ingredients are safe for your diet. Always read ingredient lists from the original source (follow the link from the "Instructions" field) in case an ingredient has been incorrectly extracted from the original source or has been labeled incorrectly in any way. Moreover, it is important that you always read the labels on every product you buy to see if the product could cause an allergic reaction or if it conflicts with your personal or religious beliefs. If you are still not sure after reading the label, contact the manufacturer.

We also attempt to estimate the cost and calculate the nutritional information for the recipes found on our site. Again, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. Salad can be paired with Chardonnay, Alcoholic Drink, and White Wine. Sauvignon Blanc and Gruner Veltliner both have herby notes that complement salads with enough acid to match tart vinaigrettes, while a Chardonnay can be a good pick for creamy salad dressings. You could try Columbia Winery Chardonnay. Reviewers quite like it with a 5 out of 5 star rating and a price of about 21 dollars per bottle.

Columbia Winery Chardonnay

Columbia Chardonnay offers bright aromas of pear, apple and hints of tropical fruits that extend to the palate. A balanced acidity and integrated sweet vanilla oak notes create an elegant Chardonnay that is distinctly Northwest.

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium high heat.
  2. Season red onion rings and mushrooms with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Place onion rings and mushrooms on grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes per side until char marks appear. Remove and set aside.
  3. Take steak out of your fridge and let it sit in the room temperature for 5 minutes. Use a paper towel to gently pat the surface of both sides of the steak dry.
  4. Brush olive oil on both sides of the steak or use olive oil cooking spray. Generously season the steak with salt and freshly ground pepper.
  5. Place the steak on the grill. Grill each side for 3-5 minutes until the internal temperature of the steak reaches 145°F for medium doneness; 135°F for medium rare and 155°F for medium well. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. To make the Chimichurri sauce, place all ingredients in a food processor, blend for about 30 seconds or until all ingredients are combined well (any remaining sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks).
  7. To assemble, arrange baby spinach spring mix on the bottom of a large serving plate, followed by the onion rings and mushrooms. Slice the steak and place on top of the vegetables. Top with cherry tomatoes and sliced avocado.
  8. Drizzle the Chimichurri sauce over the steak salad and serve!
