By using our free meal planner (and the rest of spoonacular.com) you have to agree that you and only you are responsible for anything that happens to you because of something you have read on this site or have bought/cooked/eaten because of this site. After all, the only person who controls what you put in your mouth is you, right?

Spoonacular is a recipe search engine that sources recipes from across the web. We do our best to find recipes suitable for many diets — whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc. — but we cannot guarantee that a recipe's ingredients are safe for your diet. Always read ingredient lists from the original source (follow the link from the "Instructions" field) in case an ingredient has been incorrectly extracted from the original source or has been labeled incorrectly in any way. Moreover, it is important that you always read the labels on every product you buy to see if the product could cause an allergic reaction or if it conflicts with your personal or religious beliefs. If you are still not sure after reading the label, contact the manufacturer.

We also attempt to estimate the cost and calculate the nutritional information for the recipes found on our site. Again, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. Additionally, our nutrition visualizer that suggests that you limit sodium, sugar, etc., and get enough protein, vitamins, and minerals is not intended as medical advice. Similarly, our health tips are based on articles we have read from various sources across the web, and are not based on any medical training. Prosecco, Moscato d'Asti, and Late Harvest Riesling are my top picks for Apple Pie. These dessert wines have the right amount of sweetness and light, fruity flavors that won't overpower apple pie. You could try Ruffino Lumina Prosecco. Reviewers quite like it with a 4 out of 5 star rating and a price of about 14 dollars per bottle.

Ruffino Lumina Prosecco

Ruffino Prosecco has been produced from grapes grown in the hilly area of Valdobbiadene, which is the most historically vocated region for the production of Prosecco.Bright straw yellow with fine bubbles. The bouquet is fragrant and intensely fruity. It shows clean notes of apples, pears and citrus, accompanied by slight hints of hawthorn, wisteria and elder. Crisp, clean and delicate with fine bubble caressing. Intense sensations of apples and peaches drive a pleasant aftertaste, that is reminiscent of fruity and floral aromas.Ideal as an aperitif; it is very versatile as a food companion. Ruffino Prosecco perfectly matches with pizza, fish and shellfish dishes as well as white meat dishes. Please note, the label for Ruffino Prosecco is in the process of changing. You may receive either of these two labels featured above. Specific labels cannot be requested.

Instructions

  1. First prepare the apples. Wash, peel and grate them. Place them in a stainless steel saucepan with sugar (I put about 6-8 tablespoons of sugar) and cook until soft. When they have released most of their juice, put the pan aside and add cinnamon and 1 sachet vanilla sugar.
  2. Dough: Margarine should be at room temperature. Put it in a bowl and mix it with yogurt.
  3. Gradually add the flour together with baking powder and 1 additional sachet vanilla to the margarine and yogurt and stir well by hand until the dough is not sticky.
  4. Let dough rest at least 30 minutes in the fridge.
  5. Take dough out and divide it into two EQUAL parts and stretch it with the rolling pin as long as the tray is (it SHOULD be a little bit bigger than the pan, because you will stretch it on the sides of the pan)
  6. Put the parchment paper on the pan, add the dough, and finally add the apple filling.
  7. Place the second layer of dough on top.
  8. Preheat oven at 375 F and bake it about 30 minutes or until nicely brown.
  9. When ready, serve with powdered sugar.
