After all, the only person who controls what you put in your mouth is you, right?

Spoonacular is a recipe search engine that sources recipes from across the web. We do our best to find recipes suitable for many diets — whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free, etc. — but we cannot guarantee that a recipe's ingredients are safe for your diet. Always read ingredient lists from the original source (follow the link from the "Instructions" field) in case an ingredient has been incorrectly extracted from the original source or has been labeled incorrectly in any way. Moreover, it is important that you always read the labels on every product you buy to see if the product could cause an allergic reaction or if it conflicts with your personal or religious beliefs. If you are still not sure after reading the label, contact the manufacturer.

We also attempt to estimate the cost and calculate the nutritional information for the recipes found on our site. Again, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information. Additionally, our nutrition visualizer that suggests that you limit sodium, sugar, etc., and get enough protein, vitamins, and minerals is not intended as medical advice. Bread Pudding on the menu? Try pairing with Madeiran and Pedro Ximénez. Pedro Ximénez's sweet, nutty flavor with notes of figs and caramel pair so well with bread pudding. Madeiran is another option - you can even find recipes using madeiran in the bread pudding! The Ashbrook Estate Verdelho with a 4.1 out of 5 star rating seems like a good match. It costs about 20 dollars per bottle.

Ashbrook Estate Verdelho

A vibrant, unwooded style of Verdelho with lashings of fruit aromas on the nose marrying with tropical fruit flavors and hints of spice on the palate. The wine stays focused and finishes crisp and dry yet has a powerful and refreshing length that makes this wine the perfect accompaniment to spicy, full flavored dishes. Famous for its natural acidity, this variety ages beautifully. Cellaring for more than five years rewards with complex spice and honeysuckle and developing nutty and toasty characters.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in eggs then stir in the cream, milk, liqueur, cinnamon, vanilla and bread. Once well combined fold in the sliced bananas carefully. Pour into a 13x9 baking dish and cook for 90 minutes or until completely set. This can be served hot, room temp or cold. It can be topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or as I did with the following topping. In a sauce pan over medium high heat melt the butter then add the brown sugar. Once melted add the banana slices and stir gently, cook until the syrup has reduced and the bananas have caramelized. This will take about 5-10 minutes, be careful to not let your sugar burn. When ready ladle some of this hot sauce over each serving of bread pudding.
